We have an opening for an Avionics Hardware Design Electrical Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in the Tactical Space organization. This position will be located in Dulles, VA. In this role, you will get the opportunity to research, develop, design, and test electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks. You will design electrical equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic purposes. Job Responsibilities Support the test and debug for flight and non-flight spacecraft electronic circuit card assemblies (CCA) and boxes Ensure that technical requirements, cost, and schedule for the CTE/ATE system development is achieved Work on a design team, and be responsible for the end-to-end design, debug, test and certification of CTE/ATE system Work closely with the spacecraft avionics Design Engineer to ensure the CTE/ATE system will validate the circuit cards and/or electronics box under all test environments Documentation, development, and release of the CTE/ATE system Perform subsystem definition, preliminary and detailed design, design implementation, subsystem and system integration, and test for a subsystem Frequent inter-organizational and outside customer contacts Analyze software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints Make frequent contact with customers both internal and external concerning requirements, design and maintenance of software Tags NGFeaturedJobs #LI-S-70 Space System NoVASpace Qualifications: This position can be filled at either the Principal Engineer (level 2) or Sr. Principal Engineer (level 3) level. Basic Qualifications for Principal Engineer: Bachelor's Degree in a STEM field (ideally in Electrical Engineering) with 5 or more years of experience; or a Master's degree with 3 years of experience; or a PhD US citizen Basic Qualifications for Sr. Principal Engineer: Bachelor's Degree in a STEM field (ideally in Electrical Engineering) with 9 or more years of experience; or a Master's degree with 7 years of experience; or a PhD with 4 years of experience US citizen Preferred Qualifications: Strong custom hardware interface design skills Strong ATE/CTE system design skills Experience defining and mapping operational requirements to functional implementations Experience developing test application SW to interface with Test Equipment along with instrument driver suites Experience developing test applications for data protocols, high speed serial interfaces, and memory algorithms.
