This position is located in the Corporate University, Washington DC, of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and provides support in the Corporation's mission and business objectives through high-quality, cost effective, continuous learning and development.

Responsibilities

- Designs and develops classroom (in-person) instructor-led training and virtual instructor-led training.

- Provides expertise and guidance to instructors, subject matter experts, and other Corporate University staff on the effective use of technology for training and performance support.

- Designs and develops web-based training, multimedia-based programs, instructional websites, responsive and mobile-delivered training, and other delivery methods.

- Analyzes tasks, jobs, and target audience requirements and conducts training need analyses.

- Initiates and participates in planning, managing, controlling, directing and coordinating projects.

- Creates job aids, release notes, and other documentation to support CU's use of templates and authoring tools in the FDIC's IT environment.

Qualifications

Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Basic Requirement: A Degree that included or was supplemented by at least 24 semester hours appropriate to the work of the position to be filled. The course work must have included study in at least four of the following five areas: 1. Learning theory, psychology of learning, educational psychology: Study of learning theories as they relate to the systematic design, development, and validation of instructional material. 2. Instructional design practices: Study of the principles and techniques used in designing training programs, developing design strategy and models, and applying design methods to the improvement of instructional effectiveness. 3. Educational evaluation: Study of the techniques for evaluating the effectiveness of instructional/educational programs, including developing written and performance tests and survey instruments, and determining reliability and validity of evaluation instruments. 4. Instructional product development: Study of the techniques appropriate for developing training materials, including identifying learner characteristics, specifying objectives, applying training strategy, validating training materials, and evaluating training. 5. Computers in education and training: Study of the application of computers in education and training, including selecting appropriate computer software.

IN ADDITION TO THE BASIC QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS AS DESCRIBED ABOVE:

CG-13: To qualify, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the 12 grade level or above in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience analyzing training needs and designing, developing, implementing, and evaluating adult instructional courses, including designing and programming online courses and integrating training products into an enterprise-wide learning management system.

Applicants must have met the qualification requirements (including selective placement factors - if any) for this position within 30 calendar days of the closing date of this announcement.

Applicants eligible for ICTAP (Interagency Career Transition Assistance Program) must achieve a score of 80 or higher in the online assessment to be determined "well qualified" for this position. For more information, click here .

You will be evaluated for this job based on how well you meet the qualifications above.

6. Skill in task and job analysis; and analyzing training needs.
