Description Job Description: The Defense Group at Leidos currently has an opening for a IT Systems Administrator supporting VMware & Windows Servers in Arlington, VA. This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience helping the Air Force Office of Scientific Research (AFOSR) mission. In this mission we provide on-site support to develop IT solutions to the organizations business processes and assist users with system issues. The new hire will work as part of a four person network administration and operation team to support remote and on-site service and support needs for our USAF customer. This relates to all technology, including: workstations, servers, cloud services of all types, printers, networks, and vendor specific hardware and software. Working with the service desk team and the lead engineer team to handle ad hoc escalation requests, facilitate planned ongoing maintenance, and assist with improvements projects.Primary Responsibilities:Applicants must be able to support all issues with the internal systems and network infrastructure to include: VMware 6.0, Windows 2012/2019 Servers, Active Directory infrastructure, Windows Deployment Services, Print Server, File Server, RSA SecureID, Cisco switches/routers, EMC SAN, SQL, Symantec ProxySG, Cisco ISE and Windows 10 workstations. Specific duties below: Manage VMware vSphere/vCenter/ESXi infrastructure; to include patching, upgrades and troubleshooting VMware related issues.Manage services for Microsoft related technologies: Windows Active Directory, File Server, Print Server, WDS/MDT etc.Support at the network level, physical and virtual: WAN/LAN connectivity, routers, and security.Support for remote access solutions: VPN, Terminal Services.Support backup and disaster recovery solutions.Monitor service desk and remote monitoring and management system alerts and notifications; ensuring appropriate response and communication with has taken place.Document maintenance for all computer systems and network infrastructure.Communicate with customers as required: keeping them informed of incident progress, notifying them of impending changes, or agreed outages.Applicants must possess a team first and flexible working mentality and be able to manage multiple simultaneous projects.Excellent interpersonal working skills with both customers and team members are required.
