By joining the Office of Intramural Management (OIM) of the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI), you can also help to reduce the burden of disease. This paid, full-time, summer internship is located within the Information Services Branch (ISB) of the OIM, Division of Intramural Research (DIR), NHLBI. The ISB specializes in the development, delivery, and administration of software applications in support of the various administrative business functions within OIM and across the NHLBI. The OIM supports 700+ scientists, clinicians, and their laboratory staff. The ISB intern will assist with projects, processes and administrative application support. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Provide operational support for applications administered by NHLBI and OIM Partner with business analysts and developers to add new functionality and design elements to support growing business needs Assist with unit and system testing for multiple projects Research and recommend strategies for system and process improvements and increased efficiencies Standardize checklists, standard operating procedures (SOPs), artifacts, and communication templates Required Skills/Background: Current undergraduate student with a major in any of the following fields: Computer Science, Information Science, Data Analytics or a similar major Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills Working technical knowledge of programming languages (JavaScript, SQL, HTML knowledge is preferred) Ability to manage and coordinate high-priority short-term projects in a fast-paced agile environment Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Proficient in Microsoft Office suite Details: This internship will function remotely Schedule: Availability to work a minimum of 16 hours/week Full-time paid, summer internship (with potential for a part-time opportunity during the school year) How to Apply: Please submit an updated resume and cover letter.
