Work Schedule Monday Friday 40 hours per week Sensitive Position No Job Description The Human Resource Assistant provides a variety of administrative and office support functions for the college s Office of Human Resources (HR), and provides exceptional customer service to all HR customers. Duties include but are not limited to: adjunct payroll processing activities and reconciliation; collection of new hire documents and credential materials for adjunct faculty and other part-time employees; I-9 verification and processing; adjunct faculty performance management processing (tracking evaluations and report generation); and follow-up notifications to managers as needed. Duties also include: recognition and awards administrative tasks; policy interpretation; file maintenance and record retention; processing and responding to employment verifications; providing assistance and set-up for HR projects and training activities; and back-up support to other HR Team members as needed. The Human Resource Assistant is also responsible for general office support activities (ie, office reception, telephone coverage, maintaining office supplies, distributing mail, copying, filing, etc.). Special Assignments May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor. KSA's/Required Qualifications Working knowledge of office practices and procedures related to HR functions; data entry and data processing, report generation, file maintenance, and record retention. Working knowledge of Human Resource transactions and associated automated systems. Demonstrated ability to interpret HR policy and procedures, perform detailed work associated with salaries, contracts, time and leave records, etc.; and to respond to HR inquiries from employees and the general public. Demonstrated ability to work independently; manage multiple projects; and complete assignments within required timeframes. Demonstrated ability to effectively utilize exceptional customer service skills; organizational skills; and to perform problem resolution. Demonstrated ability to communicate, both orally and in writing, and work effectively with multi-cultural populations that support diversity, cultural understanding and inclusion. Demonstrated ability to operate a personal computer using current software programs to include Microsoft Office and Outlook. High school graduate or equivalent. The selected candidate must be able to pass the college s pre-employment security screening. Preferred Qualifications An Associate s and/or Bachelor s degree in a related field is preferred. Experience in a busy, collaborative and innovative human resource environment is preferred. Experience in higher education human resources is also preferred.
