PRIMARY PURPOSE OF JOB The Exelon Retail Digital team is seeking a Senior .NET Software Developer to provide technical expertise and leadership to implement a cloud native, modern API that will serve as the strategic digital platform for the next decade. More than just knowing a language or technology, we are looking for someone who can think critically about a problem, understand the use case and appropriate tools, and apply best-practice design patterns to achieve today s goal with flexibility for tomorrow. The successful candidate will provide technical leadership to design, develop and maintain their Web API platform for 3rd Parties, internal and customer facing applications access to highly critical real-time services required for day to day operations. Given the criticality of this platform to the success of the Retail operation, deep hands-on experience with building enterprise-grade APIs, scalable, robust, and resilient platforms is a must. Azure platform experience is a strong plus but other cloud platform experience will be considered. PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES Provide input and work closely with the Digital Architect and Product leads to develop the API-first architecture that will serve as the future digital foundation. Understand business needs and develop options to meet near-term and long-term product and IT goals. Use current programming languages and technologies, write code, complete programming, and perform testing and debugging of applications. Ability to work with product owners and business stakeholders to align IT roadmap with Product Owner vision. Qualifications JOB SPECIFICATIONS Minimum: Deep experience applying design patterns and software development best practices. Strong tendency for delivering software (good enough) vs. a pursuit for academic perfection. Demonstrates ownership mentality for solutions; not waiting to be told what to do. Must have a "business-first" mindset, driving solutions that address line of business needs. Must be comfortable and articulate communicating with non-technical business partners. Must be able to learn and adapt "on the fly" as many new 5+ years of experience in developing and supporting enterprise business applications using Microsoft .NET technologies 5+ years of experience using C# Experience with software design patterns, and how they are applied. Experience in both developing and consuming WebAPi Services, REST APIs, etc. Strong understanding of the development lifecycle in a SCRUM environment along with programming techniques and tools Experience with cloud-native Azure technologies like Azure Functions, Event Grids, Service Bus Queues, Cosmos DB, Azure Data Factory, or related a plus Familiarity with cloud design patterns a plus Experience with git, Azure DevOps Self-motivated and able to prioritize and manage workload and meet critical project milestones and deadlines Excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiation and collaboration skills JOB SCOPE Provide input and work closely with the Digital Architect and product leads to develop the API-first architecture that will serve as the future digital foundation Understand business needs and develop options to meet near-term and long-term product and IT goals Use current programming languages and technologies, write code, complete programming, and perform testing and debugging of applications Ability to work with product owners and business stakeholders to align IT roadmap with Product Owner vision Highly independent with an ability to work under minimal supervision.
