We value our people and the diverse skills and backgrounds they bring to collectively work towards Exelon's goal of providing clean, affordable and innovative energy to create a more sustainable future for everyone.A' PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION:The Solution Architecture Manager leads a team of skilled solution architects and partners with IT and business teams to provide the necessary leadership to drive technology solutions by weighing advantages of technology standards, industry best practices, security, scalability, and risks and benefits of technology introduction into Exelon's environment. Provides comprehensive consultation to business unit and IT management and staff at the highest technical level for assigned architectural domain. You put your team's growth, engagement, and success first and you are highly adaptable and able to pivot with the needs of the organization.A' PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:A' --Provide technical expertise to IT and business teams to identify technology solutions and strategies to achieve business results.--Ensure appropriate implementation of technology through a culture of high-quality solution architecture, design, and engineering aligned to the latest industry standards and best practices--Design and develop solution architecture strategy for digital product and platform portfolio in collaboration with enterprise architecture--Provide technological expertise and advise on the development of strategic roadmaps to support business strategies in the near, mid, and long term--Perform engineering and solution design functions for software applications and infrastructure in support of the corporate-wide strategic information technology plan--Oversee the introduction of new technology into the operations environment by utilizing Exelon's standard governance process--Identify advisory opportunities in collaboration with a team of Solution Architects to advise business and IT partners on potential solutions that leverage current or emerging technology--Works in a consultative fashion to improve communication, collaboration and alignment amongst teams inside and outside of the organization--Establish, maintain and enhance relationships with business and IT partners--Oversee and drive the end-to-end architecture for products within the digital portfolio--Designs solutions that are enterprise scalable, reliable, maintainable, and secure--Drives research, case studies, and proof-of-concept prototypes on leading edge technologies and how they may be leveraged--Drive strategic technology initiatives, working with Product Managers, Enterprise Architects, Engineers, UX/UI Designers, subject matter experts and the broader organization--Maintain awareness of trends and issues in area of technical expertise, evaluate new technologies or technology opportunities, and provide analysis of their potential impact to advance the business--Drive and advance standards definition, principles, and frameworks for technologies and processes with a focus on continuous improvement of reliability, security, and scalability--Oversee process improvement efforts and ensure documentation and adoption of standard processes and procedures--Analyze the design, specification, feasibility, cost, and implementation of a tool or system--Identify, evaluate, and interpret architecture data so that it may be used for business decisions--Lead, manage and develop a team of 3 Sr. Solution Architects and provide oversight and guidance to 2 additional contractors--Coach and mentor product and platform technical leads across digital portfolio --Promote diversity and foster teamwork, collaboration, and a growth-focused organization--Manage staffing in a strategic and thoughtful manner in collaboration with digital delivery managers--Provide input to IT managers on performance of IT personnel to assist in performance evaluations, career development, and recognition--Operate utilizing standard processes as defined in the organization and within the Management ModelQualificationsPOSITION SPECIFICATIONS:Minimum:--Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline and total 8-10+ years in a software engineering and/or architecture role and experience successfully collaborating with Product Management, User Experience Design, Agile teams (eg, SCRUM), and DevSecOps or equivalent combination of education and work experience.--At least 3 years of experience in a management or leadership role--Mastery in multiple programming languages and platforms--Strong understanding of change management techniques associated with new technology implementation--Experience in leading proof of concept efforts to successful execution and outcome delivery--Experience producing strategic technology/solution design roadmaps across multiple products or platforms--Ability to provide coaching to team members to support their understanding of the architecture best practices and aid in their technical development--Ability to create an open environment for honest and open discussion of all issues and opportunities amongst team members and collaborators--Strong judgment, excellent analytical ability and consulting skills--Ability share a vision and solicit support for architectural decisions across IT and business partner organizations--Proven leadership capability--Operates independently with little or no supervision--Excellent written and verbal communications skills and ability to work effectively with Enterprise Architecture, technical leads, IT and business management, and with vendorsA' Preferred:--Agile Certification--Experience with Design Thinking methodologies--Examples of appropriate technical skills:--5+ years of experience in development using Object-Oriented technologies, as well as strong service-oriented design and engineering experience, familiarity with AJAX, Jscript frameworks (eg, Angular, Knockout and Node.js), GIT, CI/CD, and API management.--5+ years of .Net development using c#. Familiarity with Java EE, Experience in designing and developing for RDBMS like Oracle and SQL Server.--Experience with Web and Mobile application development and defining solution architecture.
