Job Details

AEI is seeking a full-time research assistant to work with AEI's poverty studies team. The Poverty Studies Program is committed to reforming public policy to better help low-income Americans move up the economic ladder and live more fulfilling and dignified lives. This position will support scholars conducting extensive research on the topics of child welfare policy, adoption and foster care, education, race issues, upward mobility, and social capital.

Responsibilities include research support in the form of editing and contributing to scholarly papers, articles, op-eds, and books; writing literature reviews and background reports using national and international publications; and managing production of two podcast series.

Applicants should have a demonstrated interest in public policy and be familiar with our nation's safety net programs. Interest and experience with research and writing, acquiring data from official sources, and promotional strategies is strongly preferred.

AEI offers a stimulating and harmonious work environment and excellent benefits. Interested candidates should submit their resume, cover letter, unofficial academic transcripts, and 500 word writing sample with their on-line application.
