The Capture Manager works with procurement databases to identify and qualify appropriate upcoming bid opportunities in the Federal marketplace. In coordination with the Vice President of Business Development, the Capture Manager leads strategic capture efforts throughout the sales lifecycle, including: develop customer intimacy; shape opportunities; analyze competitive landscapes; develop messaging and win themes; support and/or lead solution development; participate in development and review, proposal/technical writing and editing; ensure compliance; presentation review and interview support; conduct debriefs. The Capture Manager conducts competitive assessments on specific opportunities, makes recommendations on teaming partners and helps build the federal opportunity pipeline. In addition, the position writes supporting business development materials, including project descriptions, resumes, service line overviews, executive summaries, etc. The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate an ability to manage multiple capture efforts simultaneously. Required Skills: Exceptional ability to successfully strategize and write effective, persuasive, and responsive proposals under tight deadlines; Ability to analyze and break down Requests for Proposals and similar documents to determine structure and themes for a compliant response; Strong ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and multi-task in handling multiple projects; Strong sense of urgency and accountability; burning desire to help an entity expand; Ability to work independently and as part of a team; Ability to consistently apply good judgment in problem solving and decision making; Positive/proactive attitude and desire to lead and grow; Proficiency with MS Office Suite, including word processing, spreadsheet production; Proficiency with internet research, data collection and organization, and email; Education and/or Experience: A Bachelor's degree is required. Concentration in business, criminal justice, journalism or a liberal-arts field that requires extensive writing is preferred. 5 years' experience in a capture role for US Government services at agencies such as DOE, DHS, DOJ, DOD, etc. or prior experience as a US Government employee in operations related functions; Strong interpersonal skills and prior experience in leading multi-disciplinary teams; Shipley training in capture management is preferred.
