You need to be dynamic, collaborative, and curious as we build new experiences, improve existing products, and develop systems powering the top growth opportunity in PayPal.The successful candidate will perform the following activities: Develop, grow, and be part of our high-performing software engineering organization, and be a hands-on technology expert.Use software development tools, techniques, and processes to design, develop and deliver robust software.Use Agile/Scrum methodology along with waterfall/SDLC techniques to ensure that projects are completed in alignment with scope and schedule.Enable and empower teams to build and deploy high-quality software on a regular and frequent basis. Ensure appropriate design, implementation, testing, delivery, and support of our systems.Drive a culture of obsession around customer focus and delivering a great online customer experience.Be an evangelist and driver for technology innovations.Use data to make decisions and help others to do the same.Communicate clearly with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels. Facilitate fun team building activities that reinforce our culture. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related major2+ years of Java back end development experience including familiarity with Java 8 features1+ years of experience designing, developing, and testing RESTful APIsExperience with common Java APIs and frameworks including JAX-RS, Hibernate, JPA and JMS is preferred1+ years of experience with Spring Boot and Spring FrameworkHigh accountability around software ownership including long-term architecture, hygiene, SDLC process, quality, and technical debtUnderstand the concepts around concurrency and transactionsExperience working with SQL databasesExperience with test frameworks such as TestNG, Mockito, WireMockExperience with Maven or other build tools is a bonusUnderstanding of Continuous Delivery conceptsStrong programming fundamentals and analytical skillsSharp learning curve and open to learn/work in new technologiesExperience with application profiling and tuningGood communication and team building skillsBasic knowledge of web application servers We're a purpose-driven company whose beliefs are the foundation for how we conduct business every day.
