Responsibilities

The U.S. Secret Service is seeking retired (CSRS/FERS) individuals to support our integrated mission and immediately impart their knowledge and experience to the current workforce. If re-employed under a Dual Compensation Hiring Authority with an OPM approved salary off-set waiver granted to the Secret Service, annuitants are able to earn their full salary and their full annuity without penalty.

Selectees will serve as an Administrative Operations Specialist in the Office of Training, James J. Rowley Training Center. Typical work assignments include:
  • Providing administrative support and implementation for financial/budget administration; training; inspections; recruitment; inventory control; record management; and human resources management.
  • Reviewing incoming communication and preparing replies to general inquires and routine actions; responding to administrative issues and inquires and resolving a variety of conflicts regarding administrative processes.
  • Utilizing a variety of office automated programs, applications, tools and systems to generate reports, graphics, charts, graphs and PowerPoint presentations.
  • Preparing memoranda and official messages; advising internal and external stakeholders on all procedural and administrative functions; providing guidance on appropriate response to actions; resolving a variety of administrative problems related to staff actions and assignments.

Qualifications

Basic Qualification:

You must demonstrate at least one (1) year of the defined Specialized Experience and meet the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Individual Occupational Requirements (IOR).

Specialized Experience

GS-9: You qualify for the GS-9 level (starting salary $59,534) if you possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-7 level performing duties such as; maintaining office calendar and meeting schedules; establish, review, update and develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs); reviewing reports and other information as it relates to financial information and documents; and analyzing and reporting data and communicating report findings to key stakeholders; OR

A master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related; OR

A combination of graduate level education and experience.

This will be calculated using your résumé and unofficial transcripts or a list of courses/course hours submitted with your application.
