Summary

This position is part of the Defense Threat Reduction Agency. The incumbent will be responsible for presentation of current intelligence information to the Director, DTRA, members of the senior staff, and the various Directorate elements, with a focus on current/near-term events, plans, developments and trends pertaining to the proliferation of WMD and radiological events; issues impacting nuclear weapons security; force protection equipment; and force operability and survivability.

Responsibilities

As a INTELLIGENCE OPERATIONS SPECIALIST you will be responsible for the following duties:
  • Researches, analyzes, and produces intelligence data and information relative to the Agency's larger mission of combat support, Combatant Command (CCMD) support, technology development, arms control implementation, threat reduction, and WMD preparedness.
  • Plans, organizes, and conducts research on specific intelligence issues pertaining to WMD threats to US and allied nations and on issues within broadly defined and interrelated areas of analytical concern.
  • Provides written input to reports being prepared for dissemination to the Agency's senior leadership and its personnel.
  • Prepares briefings and written products for the Department, disseminating current information through various written and automated means.
  • Participates in studies or reports of irregularities observed during the performance of mission personnel duties. Conducts research on various intelligence communications and database systems to fulfill requirements.

Applicant must have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, and will typically be demonstrated by working at, or immediately below the level of the job being advertised, for a year or more. The previous work experience must clearly demonstrate the application of the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position

Specialized experience required for this position is:

1. Experience conducting activities associated with worldwide WMD, counter proliferation and arms control.

2. Experience with Combating WMD plans, programs, intelligence, doctrine, and policy.

3. Experience with support to counter threat network programs or activities.

4. Experience with OSD, Joint Staff and Combatant Commands.

    Must be able to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET/SCI security clearance. May be subject to random DoD counterintelligence scope polygraph if assigned to programs or duty locations that have such a requirement.

    Travel in the performance of temporary assignments may be required.

    Overtime or rotating shifts for extended periods during crisis and exercise situations may be required.

    Must be able to respond to short notice taskings, high priority projects, and complex crisis situations required.

    This position is emergency-essential (E-E). In the event of a crisis situation, the incumbent, or designated alternate, must continue to perform the E-E duties until relieved by proper authority.
