Summary

The purpose of this position is to serve as Executive Assistant to the Under Secretary of Domestic Finance, or one of the Assistant Secretaries in Domestic Finance. The Under Secretary and Assistant Secretaries play a critical role in policy-making by bringing an economic and government financial policy perspective to issues facing the government. The incumbent of this position assists the Under Secretary or Assistant Secretary in carrying out that official's executive responsibilities.

Responsibilities

As an Executive Assistant, you will:

-On a day-to-day basis receive, examine, evaluate and review a wide range of confidential and highly sensitive data, information, and correspondence of an internal character.

-Study, research, extract, and assemble confidential and/or unclassified files and documents maintained in the office, or from other available sources.

-Assist the Under Secretary or Assistant Secretary, and other senior officials by (a) carrying out an assortment of highly responsible and substantive research assignments; (b) diverting matters that can be handled elsewhere; (c) transmitting information from the Under Secretary or Assistant Secretary to other staff members, and (d) preparing answers to letters addressed to the Secretary of the Treasury, or to the Under Secretary or Assistant Secretary.

-Perform special assignments of an administrative nature for the Under Secretary or Assistant Secretary, including obtaining background information and material needed for special projects or meetings.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.

GS-13: Specialized experience is fifty-two (52) weeks of experience at the GS-12 level, or equivalent, that is directly related to the position and which has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience at this level is defined as:
-Experience recommending and implementing changes to an office's administrative policies; AND
-Experience devising and installing procedures and office practices affecting subordinate organizations; AND
-Experience analyzing competing demands to determine the priority of the requests to be accomplished factoring in issues such as program or project requirements, staff abilities and assignments; AND
-Experience arranging the schedule of an executive level official.

In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:
For the GS-13, you must have been at the GS-12 level for 52 weeks.

- Due to the Pandemic, maximum telework is permitted when an entrance on duty (EOD) date has been established. A report date to the official duty station/facility is only delayed until such time as employees are allowed to report to the workplace, per agency guidelines.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- A one year probationary period may be required.
- Must successfully complete a background investigation.
- Complete a Declaration for Federal Employment to determine your suitability for Federal employment, at the time requested by the agency

- Obtain and use a Government-issued charge card for business-related travel.
- File a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report within 30 days of appointment and annually from then on, if necessary.
- Undergo an income tax verification.
