This position is at the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) in the, Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO). This position serves as an IT Specialist (Program Manager).

Responsibilities

As an IT Specialist (Program Manager), you will:
  • Monitor program/project activities throughout the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and/or Project Management Life Cycle (PMLC), to help with identifying problems or delays for action to ensure accuracy and quality of project deliverables.
  • Assist with monitoring the progress of priority projects within assigned programs and keeps informed of progress through the review of reports, programming documents, directives, funds authorization documents, and other programs/project material.
  • Monitor and assist with mitigating project risks, help analyze issues and problems, and recommend solutions; manage changes; and ensure the quality of deliverables.
  • Work with customers, stakeholders, and sponsors to help define the business requirements of programs/projects and to develop and analyze alternatives for achieving those requirements.
  • Support the development of program/project budgets and monitors overall program and project expenses, as well as help, determine and secure all resources required to plan, analyze, develop, and implement the assigned program/project.
  • Perform duties as a Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) such as supporting program/project teams in developing task order documentation such as Statements of Work, Statements of Objectives, and other documents for acquisition of IT contractor support.
  • Attend and support the reparation and presentation of program/project readiness reviews.
  • Support the incorporation of configuration management, information technology architecture, infrastructure design, and systems integration into IT program/project plans.
  • Participate in the proper application of information security and information assurance policies, principles, and practices in all programs/projects.

Qualifications

Specialized experience is the experience that has equipped you with the specific knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled.

All applicants applying for the CU-12 level must have at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the CU/GS-11 level obtained in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience for this position is defined as experience assisting others with project management activities. This includes the following phases of the project management lifecycle: initiating, planning, execution, monitoring and controlling, and closing activities.

In addition to the above qualifications, all individuals must have IT related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below and demonstrate each of the following in your resume:

    SALARY: Pay will be set within the advertised pay range to align with the selectee's skills and experience and the requirements of the position.
    Pay will be set using NCUA's compensation policy. The salary range shown is NCUA's Local Pay Rate (LPR) which includes the locality rate for the Alexandria, Virginia geographical area. Please click here to review all salary ranges based on locality.
