The Capital Project Manager is primarily responsible for the management of facility projects for the District of Columbia Courts but may be assigned management responsibility for aspects of capital projects as well. The incumbent is also responsible for coordinating and monitoring the design prepared by contractors and other parties, as well as with installation/delivery of service to ensure adequacy for maintenance requirements as well as for compliance with contract requirements.

Brief Description of Duties:
  • Manages and coordinates the activities of contractors, tradesmen and related divisions and operations of the Courts to accomplish the scope of each project, while supporting the achievement of the Courts' business goals, objectives and initiatives.
  • Coordinates and manages all facility related work requests between divisions and operations, contractors and trades.
  • Reviews and evaluates drawings, samples, catalogue cuts, specifications, and technical plans submitted by various contractors. Ensures that contractors are in compliance with relevant contractual documents, as well as with policies, guidelines and procedures of the District of Columbia Courts.
  • Conducts periodic site visits as required for the purpose of quality assurance surveillance and to ensure that field elements are performing work in accordance with specification or contract documents.
  • Works closely with the division's senior management on matters pertaining to the Courts' facility related projects.

Minimum Qualifications: A high school diploma or GED plus nine (9) years of experience in construction projects and facilities management. Must have experience working on projects that include oversight over projects located in secured facilities.

PMP and/or CCM certification preferred .

Prior experience working with facility cleaning and janitorial services preferred.
