Overview: The Web Designer works as a part of the Global Engagement and Communications Office (GECO) to contribute to the design, development and maintenance of Jhpiego s corporate and programmatic website projects, including our main wordpress property and Blackbaud fundraising platforms, and to execute e-mail marketing communications from a variety of platforms, including Luminate and Mailchimp. This includes front and back-end web development, maintaining website operations, establishing and maintaining web analytics, maintaining and improving our fundraising capacity, and improving performance of our web properties. The position requires familiarity with data analytics for example, expertise with Google Analytics as well as the various performance indicators commonly used to assess email marketing and websites. The ideal candidate possesses both backend development experience and frontend design capabilities, as well as working knowledge of the Blackbaud suite of products. Responsibilities: Create concepts, artwork and layout for web sites and eblasts, and other online projects based on creative briefs and client meetings Contribute to development of program website from initial consultation, wire framing, prototyping and implementation to quality assurance testing Assist in the design, development, maintenance and security of Jhpiego s external websites Contribute to overall creative design and web standards Help manage the department s efforts on Blackbaud and Luminate products for effective fundraising Help develop specifications for requirements for various web projects Design, develop and manage Jhpiego emails and email templates for use in monthly newsletters, fundraising solicitations and other products Work with senior staff and managers to recommend and implement web designs, dissemination and promotion tools to achieve department and organizational goals Update web page content and layout using a content management system such as Wordpress Help manage and maintain CSS, HTML and graphic elements throughout web pages and web-related collateral Support and provide training to staff on use of the content management system and email distribution system Provide quality assurance on creative deliverables Monitor analytics on website use and email marketing campaigns and prepare reports to assess and enhance performance Create strategic analytic funnels to track performance of key objectives for example, analyzing the effectiveness of web traffic behavior patterns and make adjustments as needed to improve performance Represent the department and/or the organization at professional meetings and conferences, as appropriate Demonstrate highest standard in quality of work, creativity and innovation Required Qualifications: BA in web design, graphic design or related field 4 years' web design and development experience required including strong front/back end development skills; Strong visual, interactive and creative design skills Strong project management skills and ability to work in diverse, collaborative environment Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, CSS/Sass, HTML, jQuery, responsive web development. Proficient in working with content management systems, such as WordPress Proficient in PHP and JavaScript to address development needs on front/back end Proficient with version-control systems (Git) and development automation such as Gulp Strong project management skills and ability to work in diverse, collaborative environment Experience with Google analytics Experience with search engine optimization to enhance website performance Experience with Blackbaud products (specifically Luminate Online and Team Raiser) Experience with Mailchimp or a similar email marketing platform Ability to design, implement and manage websites targeting multiple international audiences and containing technical information Attention to detail and accuracy, strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Demonstrated ability to work with both scientific/technical and non-technical materials Self-motivator who looks for opportunities to creatively expand/upgrade Jhpiego s web presence to drive website traffic and usage Ability to work in a complex environment with multiple partners, multiple tasks, short deadlines and intense pressure to perform Awareness of and sensitivity to working in multiple socioeconomic settings and with multicultural groups in a developing country environment Experience with the Microsoft 365 suite and Share Point
