Description SAIC is seeking a Nuclear Weapons Security Analyst Principal with an active TS/SSBI. The successful candidate support efforts in the functional areas of Nuclear Surety and Exercises and NATO and Incident Response within the Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Nuclear Matters and provides technical and analytical support on a wide range of actions to the Nuclear Matters (NM) office on nuclear weapon security-related issues. Primary policy advisor for physical security of nuclear weapons and nuclear command and control (NC2). Travel to DoD installations and facilities to attend planning meetings, conferences, seminars, and participate in exercises is required. Daily responsibilities may include: Draft, coordinate, implement, and interpret DoD nuclear surety-related policy; Serve as the primary contractor supporting NATO nuclear security working groups in Europe, specifically NATO's Joint Theatre Surety Management Group (JTSMG) and closely interface with US European Command and US Air Forces in Europe in supporting the working groups; Coordinate with Interagency partners and the Intelligence Community to synchronize security efforts across the US nuclear enterprise; Assist the Security Policy Verification Committee (SPVC) Chairman with preparation and execution of Biennial Executive Sessions and management of open Action Items; and, Collaborate with Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) planners on DoD Force-on-Force Program exercises, out of cycle testing, policy guidance and interpretation, and modeling and simulation. Provide inputs to annual reporting to Congress and the President; Conduct analysis and prepare staff products and briefings pertaining Annual Nuclear Security Risk Assessments, Deviation Reports, and Personnel Assurance Reliability Program Report; and routinely draft Principal-level correspondence, staff packages, issue papers, preparatory reading material, presentations, and trip books. Qualifications REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Minimum of ten (10) years of experience performing nuclear weapons security duties in an Air Force, Navy or Marine Corps unit with a Bachelor's Degree. Additional years of experience or training may be considered in lieu of a degree. Prior experience working in OSD, Service or Major Command headquarters staff on nuclear weapon physical security issues; Developing, interpreting, and applying nuclear weapons security policy; Knowledge of response force tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs); Experience with and knowledge of various US nuclear weapons storage and operational configurations; Experience with and knowledge of security requirements and considerations for Prime Nuclear Airlift Fleet (PNAF), DOE ground transportation, and nuclear weapon military convoy operations; Experience with and knowledge of US and NATO nuclear weapons infrastructure including custodial requirements and USEUCOM security procedures. Experience with and comprehensive understanding of US and NATO Nuclear Security Threat, Vulnerability, and Risk Assessments Excellent written and oral communication skills. Thorough familiarity with DoD policy concerning: Nuclear Weapons Security Standard Personnel Reliability Assurance Program (PRAP); Nuclear weapons security procedures/requirements; Nuclear weapon system safety rules; Denial, recapture, and recovery operations Force-on-force exercises and procedures. Nuclear Accident and Incident Response Development of classification guidance DESIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Thorough knowledge of US and NATO nuclear weapons infrastructure acquired through operational work experiences; Knowledge and familiarity with Nuclear Command and Control (NC2) facilities and platform physical security requirements, operations, plans, policy and procedures. Ability to confidently and credibly communicate presentations to senior OSD, Joint Staff, and Interagency leadership Ability to harmonize initiatives between OSD, Joint Staff and the Interagency; Experience with and ability to draft executive-level correspondence; Demonstrated experience in the establishment of positive and productive work relationship with clients based on individual level of expertise, quality of work, personality, and ability to deliver the desired product; Superior leadership and project management skills and a working understanding of statistical analysis techniques. Master's degree preferred. Completion of Senior-level Professional Military Education also desired. REQUIRED CLEARANCE: Must have current final Top Secret/SSBI clearance and the ability to obtain favorable SCI adjudication within 3 months of hire.
