We are seeking a Systems Security Engineer with a Bachelor's degree in Systems Security, Network Engineering, Information Technology, or a related Engineering field and at least 3 years of related experience. What to look forward to: As a Systems Security Engineer, you will be using your skills and expertise to design, test, and implement our secure operating systems, networks, security monitoring, and tuning. You'll be responsible for the management of our IT security systems and applications, incident response, digital forensics, loss prevention, and eDiscovery actions, conducting risk and vulnerability assessments, and developing and implementing security controls. You'll research, evaluate, and recommend new security tools, techniques, and technologies in alignment with our IT security strategy and introduce them to the enterprise. At the current time, we are searching for applicants for an Information Assurance (IA) Engineer role. The IA Engineer is responsible for the effective completion of Assessment & Authorization activities, including continuous monitoring, in support of tactical networks deployed globally. As such, this individual will provide valuable information assurance insight during technical research and development activities to further enhance the existing infrastructure. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:Participate in high-quality interaction with customers, team members, contractors, and ultimately the government authorization official to achieve the directed information assurance objectivesServe as a subject matter expert in the field of information assurance and provide guidance during the design, integration, or upgrade of new or existing information systemsCombined knowledge of information assurance policies and operational understanding to develop or review assessment and authorization documentation based upon the NIST Risk Management Framework and other US military regulationsParticipate in continuous monitoring activities such as vulnerability management, incident response, and accreditation record maintenance in systems such as eMASS or XACTAPerform random and scheduled security control assessments of information systems to ensure compliance with requirements based upon NIST Risk Management Framework and other US military regulationsPerform work product evaluation of other information assurance team members during the design, integration, or upgrade of new or existing information systems REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:An active Secret US Security Clearance is requiredBachelor's degree in Systems Security, Information Assurance, or related Engineering discipline and at last 3 years of relevant experience. A' NOTE: A' Relevant work experience may substitute for degreeMust have IAT Level III certification (CISSP, CASP, GCIH, etc.) or ability to attain within 6 months of hireDemonstrated experience working with the NIST RMF Assessment and Authorization processDemonstrated experience with security control assessment tools such as ACAS / Tenable Nessus, SCAP Compliance Checker, and Microfocus FortifyStrong understanding of DoD applicable Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGS), NIST special publications, and NSA GuidesWorking knowledge of operating systems and networking conceptsStrong communication skills, strong critical thinking and problem solving skills; self-motivated with ability to effectively prioritizeA' Ability to work on multiple projects; ability to work with people in a team environment and deal effectively with changing project prioritiesAbility to manage time, make sound decisions, take independent action, analyze problems and provide focused solutions. A' A' High degree of attention to detailKnowledge of technical standards relating to systems security; experience administering UNIX, Linux, and Windows operating systems, experience with large-scale server systems, thin client architecture, system virtualization and other related peripherals IMPORTANT NOTICE: This position requires current/active Secret US Security Clearance.
