The Boeing Company is looking for a problem solving **Contract Engineering Lead** for the Satellite Data Center Operations and Maintenance (O&M) technical support that is located in **Springfield, VA** .The Contract Engineering Lead will work on a contract that performs ITIL Tier 2 Mission Operations and Maintenance (O&M) support for satellite control mission systems. You will lead/manage a team providing in-depth troubleshooting, technical analysis and restoring software to normal operational status. The mission systems include Compute, Storage, and Database components.The position is responsible for engineering oversight of two geographically disparate sites comprised of twelve day staff engineers, four System Transition Engineers (STEs), and eight 24x7 engineers.This position is required to provide on-call support around-the-clock from each of the site 8x5 leads. Depending on the severity of an incident, call in support may be required. Occasional Travel may be required.**Responsibilities of the Contract Engineering Lead include:**+ Representation of the two sites as a member of the Contract Program Management Office+ Interface to local Customer Points of Contact (POCs)+ Local Representative to the Customer COTR+ Responsible for meeting Contract Performance Requirements for the 2 site operation+ Mission Critical Incident: 1 hour to resolve the issue or develop a workaround or escalate to factory team+ Mission Essential Incident: 6 hours+ Mission Support Incident: 72 hours+ Contract award fee is contingent upon being able to meet these response times+ Interface with other on-site contract leads to ensure continuity of services from call to completion+ Interface with factory points for contact for required documentation and inputs into continual service improvement efforts+ Review incident queues and metrics to ensure timelines are being met. For those that are not, developing corrective action to prevent future occurrence.+ Working with Tier 1 to improve the tools used to manage incident, change, and requests across the enterprise.+ Providing support to the Boeing Program manager and the local Boeing managers for personnel and program inputs/issues**This position requires an active TS/SCI US Security Clearance, with the ability to complete CI Poly Pre-Start.** (A US Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)**Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):**+ Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry+ Experience in an engineering management or technical lead role**Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):**+ Experience working on satellite ground/spacecraft systems+ Certification or working knowledge of ITIL+ Technical problem solving abilities+ Knowledge of business management+ Prior engineering management experience that required customer engagement+ Excellent communication and presentation skills**Typical** **Education/Experience:**Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (eg Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (eg PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.**Relocation** :This position does not offer relocation.
