DescriptionINTRODUCTIONThis position is set aside for a person with a disability Proof of Disability is Required prior to interviewingReliable Transportation is Required (No Evening Public Transportation is available after 10:00 pm)This position is located in Baltimore, MD at the Curtis Bay Coast Guard stationThe core working hours are 1:30 pm - 10:30 pm, Monday through FridayThe hourly wage is $13.23Pre-employment criminal background check, government security clearance, and drug testing are requiredKEY RESPONSIBILITIESSweeps and mops hallways, offices and stairsWaxes and buffs floors with prescribed buffersStrips and waxes floorsShampoos rugs and carpetsHigh dusting/cleaning of offices, hallways and stairsPerforms general cleaning tasks when assigned such as emptying trash, emptying recycling, low dusting, glass cleaning, vacuuming, wall washing, spot cleaning and restroom cleaningMixes cleaning solutionsMaintains issued equipmentNotifies supervisor when supplies and equipment are needed to perform tasksAll other duties assigned by Custodial ForemanSUPERVISIONUnder the supervision of the Custodial Foreman, performs those cleaning tasks necessary to meet custodial contract specifications.PHYSICAL QUALIFICATIONS:The incumbent must be able to stand 80% of the work time; walk 15% and sit 5%He/she must be able to lift/carry 50 pounds and push/pull 50 pounds in order to clean work areas and handle supplies and equipmentHe/she must be able to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach and handleAll of these requirements are necessary for using ladders and stairs, cleaning low areas, high areas, benches and cornersHe/she must be able to communicate with supervisors and co-workers; must be able to see, have depth perception and tell colors for safety reasons and to distinguish between chemicalsQUALIFICATIONS:Must have three years cleaning experience and one year of floor experienceAbility to satisfactorily complete medical examMust be able to pass security clearance for designated contractsMelwood is an Equal Opportunity Employer and a Drug-Free workplace.
