We are looking for an experienced and talented Space Systems Engineer who can support space missions design, EO/IR sensor development, program execution, and work product development as well as AI&T activity. This role requires experience in modelling and simulation analysis techniques pertaining to satellite systems and/or EO/IR sensors, the ability to manage and evaluate technical solutions for the development of complex space systems-of-systems (SoS) and/or EO/IR systems for high reliability applications, and hands-on skills for design, build, integration, and test of such systems. You will support the research, design, development, analysis, and testing of diverse space-centric systems in support of one or more mission areas. Required Skills: 8+ years of experience in systems engineering 4+ years of experience in space systems Experience with spacecraft on-orbit operations and data analysis Experience with space sensor testing and analysis Experience in numerical modeling and simulation, and performing analysis using MATLAB, C++, Python Demonstrated problem solving, organization, coordination, and planning skills Experience in working with multi-disciplined teams Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills and negotiation skills Familiarity with system development phases including requirements, architecture, design, build, test, and deploy Ability to work independently, determine and develop approaches to solutions Ability to access to US only data systems US Citizenship status is required and the ability to obtain US security clearance post-start Desired Skills: Experience with modeling and simulation of EO/IR systems Experience in space product design and lifecycle Familiarity with designing and testing optical subsystems related to space EO/IR payload systems Experience developing proposals for Government, commercial, and international customers Experience developing operational concepts Familiarity with spacecraft bus architecture Ability to decompose top level requirements down to subsystems DOORS and other requirements management applications Technical design experience in opto-mechanical engineering Experience in leading testing activities such as environmental, thermal, vibration, and EMI testing Ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships with all levels of the organization Familiarity with cost and schedule management using a government approved Earned Value Management System Knowledge of EO/IR instruments power and thermal subsystems Knowledge of US Export/Import law in regards to space technologies Required Education: BS in Engineering, Sciences, or Mathematics or related STEM discipline Desired Education: MS/PhD in Engineering, Sciences, or Mathematics or related STEM discipline 169758 Raytheon is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
