Position Summary - Heavy Equipment Mechanic- 4PM-4AMThe shop Mechanic will perform mechanical repairs on diesel powered equipment to include trouble shooting and repairs of heavy equipment, rebuilds, removal and installation of mechanical parts, and preventative maintenance on all types of diesel-powered equipment. Lubricate and change oils and filters as needed.Job Responsibilities* Prioritizes SAFETY, then QUALITY, followed by Production* Will take an active role in the plant safety initiatives* Ensures a safe work environment for self and others at all times* Conducts MSHA pre-shift safety inspections of equipment and work areas* Maximizes performance of stationary equipment by performing repairs and ensuring preventative maintenance is completed on a timely basis* Performs fabrication and repair to mobile equipment* Completes required paperwork to maintain equipment according to Martin Marietta Materials standards* Duties may include checking, repairing or replacing pumps* Ensures Preventative Maintenance services, lubrications services are completed according to Maintenance Module* Trains and coach other employees on maintenance practiceRequirements* HS Diploma or GED required* 3 to 5 years' heavy equipment experience* Engine diagnostic experience* Hydraulic diagnosis and repairs* CAT quarry/construction equipment / diesel engine repairs* Ability to analyze, troubleshoot, and repair* Advance knowledge of engine, drive train, brake, electrical and hydraulics a plus* Must be safety conscious, dependable, motivated and possess a positive attitude in working with others as a team
