Principal Financial Analyst

The Principal Financial Analyst will be part of the Card Customer Experience Finance team, which manages the customer servicing related expenses for the Domestic Card business. The main challenge for this organization is to strike a balance between great service and low cost, and to lead with digital self-service solutions first. Our Finance team partners with business leaders to drive strategic business direction that leads to sustainable performance.

The CCX Finance team does this by:

- Delivering accurate, meaningful, and efficient financial forecasts and management reporting to help our partners deliver on their short term and long term financial objectives

- Bringing value added analytics and insight into business performance, trends and strategy impacts

- Being a strategic advisor to our business leaders; providing deeper understanding of business and corporate context to help business leader make effective trade-offs

- Challenging our current well-managed processes to be more proactive, effective and efficient.

This associate will provide financial support to our Customer Resiliency Channels team, which provides collections and recoveries service and solutions for our Domestic Card customers.

The role requires strong communication, problem solving, critical thinking, and influencing skills in order to effectively:
  • Articulate outcomes of analysis and relevant insights
  • Develop presentations to communicate business and analysis results to senior audiences
  • Independently manage and prioritize workload


Responsibilities:

Expense Forecasting, Reporting and Analysis

  • Review expenses and record monthly accrual and reclass entries as needed to ensure accurate accounting of department expenses

  • Conduct monthly analysis to highlight key trends and variances to outlook. Update monthly outlook as needed and highlight risks and opportunities to monitor in the future

  • Partner with business and Workforce management teams to understand monthly capacity plan change drivers and the associated financial impacts

  • Reporting includes monthly financial variance and trend reporting and commentary for business customers and Finance/Accounting needs


Annual Processes, Ad Hoc requests and Other Initiatives:
  • Provide inputs and support as needed for financial exercises and processes - cost allocations, NPV Memo updates, long-term cost projections, etc.

  • Lead Annual budget development and review and socialization with business partners

  • Lead / support continuous improvement initiatives related to forecasting, reporting, analysis and/or cost allocations, to benefit the broader Finance team


Basic Qualifications:

- Bachelor's Degree or military experience

- At least 2 years' experience in financial analysis

- At least 2 years' experience with financial modeling

Preferred Qualifications:

- Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA) or Master's Degree in Finance

- Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) license or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license

- 3+ years' experience in financial analysis

- 3+ years' experience with financial modeling
