+ POSITION OVERVIEW + Performs a variety of patient care and administrative support functions under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) in an outpatient setting. + Some of the major job functions include but are not limited to: + A self-motivated, advanced care provider + Technician and content expert performing core departmental services + ECG diagnostic testing + Holter + cardiac event monitor + mobile continuous telemetry + 24 hour blood pressure, monitoring + implantable device assessment/remote + expertly managing associated workflow and data with a developed level of service familiarity + Integral member of the Cardiology Department performing specific technical tasks as outlined on the technicians skills competency check list + Accurately documents care provided in patient medical record + Stocks patient supplies and assists with inventory + Monitors equipment to ensure working order and cleanliness. Enters work orders for broken equipment + Cleans exam rooms and equipment between patients as appropriate + Other Duties as assigned + EXEMPTION STATUS + Non-exempt + REQUIREMENTS + Education: + High School Diploma or GED preferred. + Experience: + 2 years relevant experience preferred + Knowledge, skills and abilities required: + Basic patient assessment skills including primary survey + Basic knowledge of primary interventions + Demonstrated effective communication skills + High level of compassion, desire to help others, and self-confidence + Basic computer knowledge with demonstrated administrative skills + Licensure and Certification: + EMT-B (or higher) or State Certification from Virginia Board of Nursing (Certified Nursing Assistant) preferred. + CET (Certified ECG technician) preferred + Refer to Life Support Training Policy #636
