Our work depends on aCommunications Analyst/Technical Writer joining our team to support the Office of the Director's activities at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), located in Bethesda, MD.At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As a Communications Analyst/Technical Writer supporting the Office of Information Technology (OIT), you will be trusted to develop and execute strategic communications plans.This work is currently being performed remotely due to COVID. However you must be able to work onsite at the NIH main campus in Bethesda, MD from 9:30 AM to 6 PM, Monday - Friday when COVID restrictions are lifted.**IN THIS ROLE, A TYPICAL DAY WILL INCLUDE:**+ Supporting engagement and outreach activities for the client, interacting with senior-level government and academic stakeholders to build and strengthen relationships in support of the mission.+ Developing communications, such as those pertaining to outages, patching, upcoming activities at regular intervals and on an ad hoc basis.+ Developing web content, press releases, blogs, and monthly newsletters.+ Developing and executing strategic communications plans, which involve cross functional support of internal teams and speak to a broad range of stakeholders+ Working with internal teams to obtain an in-depth understanding of the issue and develop communications based on the requirements+ Documenting meeting minutes, tracking action items across the team for status through to completion+ Following up on customer support requests, creating and performing basic triage of customer support tickets+ Assisting the team with customer outreach, data analytics, and customer support.+ Developing and providing training to customers on newly implemented technologies.+ Producing high-quality technical documentation that is 508 compliant, meets applicable standards, and is appropriate for its target audience**REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:**? Bachelor's degree or equivalent? Two years of communications/technical writing experience**? Technical Skills:**+ Proficiency in email, MS Office (including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and related business and communication tools+ Ability to manage communication delivery from start to finish and track multiple workstreams related to communications+ Ability to translate technical verbiage into messaging easily understood by a business audience+ Working knowledge of 508 compliance requirements+ Experience developing messaging for mass email distribution (or similar)+ Experience with ticketing systems, such as ServiceNow (highly preferred) or JIRA+ Competency with formatting content+ Must have an ITILv3 Foundations certification or be able to obtain within six months of employment+ Experience in technical writing in the information technology field? **SECURITY CLEARANCE LEVEL:**+ Must have or be able to obtain a Public Trust**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:**+ Experience working at NIH+ Experience using web content management platforms, such as SharePoint or Drupal+ Helpdesk or customer service experience+ Familiarity with Microsoft Visio+ Some graphic design experience**WHAT GDIT CAN OFFER YOU:**This role is supporting a critical mission for the public health, working at the prestigious National Institutes of Health main campus in Bethesda, MD.
