ResponsibilitiesUsing a holistic approach, designs, develops, evaluates and modifies end-to-end systems and systems-oriented products through their entire life cycle. Generates quantifiable requirements based on customer description, system planning and design, and acquisition logistics. Ensures requirements comply with client requirements and government standards through formal verification methods. Translates high level product development strategies into system requirement specifications and works with other engineering disciplines to develop lower level detailed implementation requirements. Establishes and coordinates development of standards, practices, and procedures as related to the overall product development. Designs interfaces and brings system elements together so they work as a whole. Assesses performance using evaluation criteria and technical performance measures. Customer liaison and support for business development activities and to understand and shape requirements. Participates in system conceptual design and documentation of the design concepts. Translates high level product development strategies into system requirement specifications and works with multi-discipline engineering teams to develop lower level detailed requirements. Participates in design reviews of components (hardware and software) to ensure applicability to the current system and traceability of requirements through compliance verification and validation. Generates system level requirements verification procedures and customer acceptance test procedures. Reviews test plans/procedures and ensures they meet the objectives of the contractual requirements and participates in the testing process to validate requirements.Examples of specific tasks the candidate would be responsible for include:Planning and implementation of power and mechanical system installations and upgrades to the customer systemsAssisting in preventative maintenance routine reviews to ensure system stabilityInterpreting, reviewing, and making recommendations on blueprintsInterfacing and coordinating with internal groups and a variety of contractors on projectsOverseeing planning and execution of specific system training and readiness activities for personnel participating in system installations and upgradesPerforming surveys for new build-outs and making recommendations. QualificationsRequired skills for the candidate include:In depth and comprehensive skills in all disciplines including generators, UPS, DC plants, HVAC, AC, construction build-outs, fire protection systems, security systems, and space planning, as well as PC skills.Bachelors degree in mechanical/electrical engineering or other related technical discipline. Requires 10 to 12 years with BS/BA or 8 to 10 years with MS/MA or 5 to 7 years with PhD.Working understanding of classified system workflow including ability to manage data on multiple systemsExperience working in the government (IC, DIA and/or military) while supporting technical operations.Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary team in pursuit organizational goals.Demonstrated expertise in writing, and ability to brief complex technical information to non-experts.Experience working with inter-agency partners on technical intelligence issues, R&D activities, and Operational activitiesExperience with end-to-end integration and test methods including identification and mitigation of programmatic and technical risk.Hands on experience with field testing and evaluation. Experience with preparation and maintenance of project documentation, cost and master schedules.Clear understanding of/or experience in project and program management methods and processes.Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office products, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project.
