Job Description

The Washington Post is seeking an experienced editor for its National Politics Enterprise and Investigations team.  

This is a critical position that bears responsibility for directing some of our most ambitious and sensitive journalism. This editor will help lead a team of reporters who are digging into the practices and policies of the Biden administration, documenting the aftermath of the Trump era, illuminating the forces that exert power in Washington and chronicling how politics and government affect diverse communities across the country.

The ideal candidate will have experience handling complicated and sensitive subjects, a deft writing touch, high metabolism and collegial spirit. An ability to conceive and execute innovative approaches to storytelling that expand the impact of accountability stories is required. 

This position is based in our Washington newsroom. Once we resume normal operations, it will not be eligible for remote work.
