Summary

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts threat and vulnerability assessments to access risks and determine effective corrective measures.
  • Serves as an Information System Security Officer (ISSO) and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) Security Officer for the Army Public Health Center (AHPC) Network Management Branch.
  • Oversees the Information Assurance Vulnerability Management (IAVM) dissemination, reporting, compliance, and verification procedures.
  • Reports security violations and incidents in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Ensures information stored and processed on the Non-classified Internet Protocol. Router Network and Secret Internet Protocol Router Network is protected through confidentiality, integrity, availability, authentication, and non-repudiation.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience and competency requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. In order to qualify you must have one year of specialized experience in the Federal service which includes: (1) Apply methods for evaluating, implementing and disseminating Information Technology security tools and procedures, security certification and accreditation requirements; (2) Developing security procedures utilizing Information Technology risk assessment methods to secure automated information systems; (3) Monitoring and evaluating network and systems operation to ensure compliance with Information Technology security requirements; and (4) Provide advice and guidance on implementing Information Assurance (IA) policy or procedures systems.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
