JOB DESCRIPTION Marketing producers are creative and strategic by nature. They have strong writing, shooting and non-linear editing skills and can imagine and create compelling, inspiring promos and multi-platform campaigns that connect with our audiences and align with the station's brand. More specifically, this opportunity is for a Topical Marketing Producer who works closely with our Late News team to identify the most promotable story, understand our audience, and drive ratings and growth for the 11pm newscast. Every day is a little different in marketing and assignments will include, writing, producing on-air news promos filming, editing, brainstorming, music selection, script writing and pitching ideas. If you love and understand short form visual and creative storytelling, are solution oriented, collaborative and are fluid in both television and digital, you might be a GREAT Marketing Producer at WUSA9. RESPONSIBILITIES Write, produce, and direct promos and creative campaigns that engage audiences where they are across platforms - right message, right place, right time.Be a strategic and creative thinker when developing concepts that connect with our audiences across platforms including broadcast, digital and social.Work with the station's Marketing Director, Promotion Manager and the content team (as needed) to develop creative concepts for topical promos and other assignments.Guide the overall look/tone/feel of topical promotions through writing, shooting and editing on-air spots and marketing materials. Based on sound strategy, campaigns must clearly and creatively connect with our intended audience, stated goals and lift the station's brand.Use non-linear editing, DSLR Cameras, Photoshop and After Effects to produce high-quality, high-impact creative.Bring your best self to work every dayGrowth Mindset REQUIREMENTS College degree in marketing, advertising, design, film or related field preferred.3+ years of relevant professional work experience or related experience.Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite and other production tools.Demonstrated copywriting abilityAbility to produce creative messages that are aligned with the station's brand.Ability to apply research and data to develop creative messages that drive audience growth.Must be a self-starter with the ability to keep track of multiple projects and meet deadlines.Must be an effective communicator in a fast-paced environment.Must be able to work a flexible schedule. This role works on an afternoon/evening shift. Marketing Producers may require being present in breaking news/big story situations, along with some night and weekend assignments.
