Sensitive Position No Job Description Part-time faculty members are needed to teach college-level Graphic Design courses at the Alexandria campus. Salary is per credit hour and based on education and experience. Teach college-level Graphic Design, Web Design, and/or Multimedia/Animation courses at the Alexandria Campus. Adjunct faculty are employed to teach up to 12 credit hours in the fall and spring semester and/or up to 10 credit hours during summer session. Teaching load is based upon student enrollment and staffing needs and it's not guaranteed. Instruction may be during the day, evening, or weekend. Adjunct faculty are required to meet assigned classes on meeting dates, submit required grade records and reports, student learning outcomes. Special Assignments May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor. KSA's/Required Qualifications Adept knowledge of instructional technologies Excellent interpersonal and native or near-native oral and written English skills Ability to work with a diverse student population Adjunct faculty are required to meet assigned classes on meeting dates, submit required grade records and reports, student learning outcomes. Classes maybe held during the day, evening or combination of both. Applicants must have an earned Master's degree in Graphic Design or related field from an accredited university or college. Applicants must have earned least 18 graduate credits in graphic design or related field. They must have demonstrated and extensive design experience outside of academia and with a diverse set of graphic design skills. Advanced skills and understanding of the current version of the Adobe Creative Cloud software are needed. Preferred Qualifications Desired qualifications include having college-level teaching experience and relevant work experience as well as having the ability to use instructional technologies; Daytime, evening, and/or weekend availability. Some experience with online teaching platforms is preferred: Canvas primarily.
