Job Title: DevOps Engineer Location: N.VA or DC Clearance: DHS clearance preferred or DOD Top Secret Summary: The Dedicated Engineer is responsible for maintaining and improving the performance of GitLab installations at the Department of Homeland Security. The engineer shall also design, implement, and synthesis technical solutions that meet the DHS's evolving needs. Duties and Responsibilities: Recommend configuration improvements to existing GitLab installations. Perform system administration, and software development and scripting tasks, and create and maintain a CI/CD Pipeline. Write test scripts in an agile software development environment with an emphasis on automated test procedures, and continuous integration and continuous delivery of software. Provide day-to-day technical guidance to team members on development activities. Job Requirements:Minimum Qualifications: (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.) High school diploma/GED required Experience in full stack development to include Java, Web services, Database, and/or web application development. Experience with agile and lean philosophies. Experience with container technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes. Experience with Continuous Delivery and Continuous Integration techniques. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Must have an astute ability in writing test scripts in an agile software development environment with an emphasis on automated test procedures, and continuous integration and continuous delivery of software. Leadership and self-direction skills are highly desired. Strong communication skills. Ability to solve complex problems utilizing creative thinking skills. Ability to critically analyze and understand the systems and communicate system requirements to the customer and leadership. Ability to travel as required Must be able to travel to meet company required training or coordination.
