Responsibilities

As a Human Resources Specialist (Compensation), you will:
  • Conduct market analysis focusing on activities to recommend OCC's merit pool, salary structure adjustments, and other changes to compensation policy, and prepare cost impact of recommended changes.
  • Serve a leading role in annual salary planning and pay increase administration. Research, analyze, and develop potential changes or additions to compensation programs.
  • Provide guidance and/or train operating staff on how to administer current compensation policies.
  • Develop and generate reports to evaluate and/or administer the compensation programs.
  • Perform a wide variety of complex analytical studies and projects related to OCC's compensation programs that would support recommendations made to agency's leadership.
  • Create and provide data models for various compensation scenarios that support bargaining unit discussions and negotiations.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of this announcement:

Specialized Experience:

You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the NB IV band level or GS-11. Examples of specialized experience for this position includes:
  • Providing general guidance on pay regulations and federal and/or private sector compensation practices (e.g. the Fair Labor Standards Act, compensatory time, and compensatory time off for travel under Title 5, Code of Federal Regulations);
  • Analyzing, interpreting, and manipulating compensation data to summarize and identify trends; AND
  • Compiling and presenting compensation data to management.

The experience may have been gained in the public sector, private sector, or through volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.

• Salary range includes 22.26% geographical pay.
