Peraton is seeking a talented self-motivated Staff Cyber Software Engineer to join an exciting, complex, mission-focused software development project working with a team of qualified diverse individuals in Fairfax, Virginia. The selected team member will be part of a software development team supporting mission critical systems, and is expected to apply best software engineering principals and Agile engineering methodologies to research, design, develop, and modify software and systems. Job Duties: The Engineering Lead s responsibilities include architecting and leading the development and integration of cloud-based information and computer systems that meet specific needs, as identified by the customer. The Engineering Lead is accountable for the end-to-end cloud deployment experience, from concept development to deployment. This position is responsible for cloud systems plans and strategy; design, development, and deployment of applications into a Cloud or Hybrid Cloud; and implementation of enterprise infrastructure and platforms required for cloud computing. Basic Qualifications: A Bachelor s degree with 14 years of relevant experience OR a Master s degree with 12 years of relevant experience OR a PhD with 9 years of relevant experience A minimum of ten years of experience supporting architecture design, development, implementation, and maintenance A minimum of one of the following professional certifications: Professional Cloud Solutions Architect (PCSA) AWS Solutions Architect (Professional) An Active Top Secret/SCI security clearance (or higher) with the ability to obtain Polygraph once hired Preferred Qualifications Bachelor s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or related STEM degree Minimum of 5 years hands-on experience working in RESTful API software development with Java in a cloud environment, minimum of 3 years of experience developing microservices on AWS, Azure, or similar cloud platforms, and advanced product knowledge and demonstrated experience with relational, noSQL and/or file based storage (eg MongoDB, Cassandra, Oracle, Postgres, etc.) Experience with one of the large cloud-computing infrastructure solutions similar to AWS or Elastic MapReduce Experience supporting highly distributed applications Experience leading a cross-functional technology team Possess one of the following AWS Certifications: AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner AWS Certified SysOps Administrator (Associate) AWS Certified DevOps Engineer (Professional) AWS Certified Big Data (Specialty) Experience utilizing Agile development methodologies and Application Lifecycle Management Experience working with programming languages such as Java, C++, JSON, PHP, Perl, Python, Ruby, Pig/Hive, and/or Elixir Hands-on experience with distributed cross-platform applications, orchestration and security Excellent knowledge and demonstrated experience of software quality process/assurance including automation testing, unit/integration testing, design/code review, code profiling and software continuous integration and continuous deployment pipelines Working knowledge of DevOps, Release engineering and Operations approach to automate deployments Working knowledge and demonstrated experience with continuous integration and delivery tools (eg Git, Jenkins, Puppet, Chef) Working knowledge and demonstrated experience with data volume analysis methodology Ability to formulate and articulate an approach to solve problems Experience supporting DIA or other IC partners We are an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
