Responsibilities

  • Participate with program managers in the development of operating and program budgets following Office of Management and Budget (OMB) and Congressional action.
  • Advise program managers on the meaning and intent of OMB instructions and the significance of Congressional decisions.
  • Technically, review and analyze budgetary and financial implications of new or revised programs, of legislative developments, of new or revised fiscal systems, and similar budget matters.
  • Serve as a member of the Management Review Committee (MRC) for all reorganization requests submitted to the Human Resources Department (HRD).

Qualifications

All qualification requirements must be met within 30 days of the announcement closing date.

You may start at $103,690.00, if you meet the following minimum qualification requirements:

Specialized Experience: one year of experience at the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the private sector performing budget analysis, accounting and program review related activities for program areas. Examples may include: developing, presenting and executing a budget; and preparing budget analyses and reports.

Time-In-Grade Requirement: In order to be eligible for this position, all current Federal employees must provide proof of meeting the time-in-grade requirement (i.e., at least 52 weeks of experience at the next lower grade level in the Federal service). This information must be in both your resume and on an SF-50. Those who do not provide proof of having met the time-in-grade requirement will be deemed ineligible for this position.

You will be evaluated for this job based on how well you meet the qualifications above.

  • Referral: You will be assigned to one of three quality groups. Each group represents a quality level (i.e., Best Qualified, Qualified, Minimally Qualified).
