Sr. Full Stack Engineer (Node & React)

The Capital One Shopping Team is changing the way people make purchases online. Finding the best prices and grabbing the biggest discounts should be a simple and seamless experience, and with the Capital One Shopping suite of tools, we make that happen!

Our primary product is a browser extension that automatically searches for online coupons, lower prices, and rewards at over 30,000 online retailers--making it effortless to save money when you shop online. Last year alone, we found customers more than $160 million in savings.

What you'll do:
  • Work with product owners to understand desired initiatives and implement application capabilities
  • Contribute to the web platform, codebase, and developer experience that supports capitaloneshopping.com and other internal initiatives
  • Shape and continuously improve software engineering practices
  • Own the craftsmanship, availability, resilience, and scalability of your solutions
  • Bring a passion to stay on top of tech trends, experiment with and learn new technologies, participate in internal & external technology communities, and mentor other members of the engineering community
  • Encourage innovation, implementation of cutting-edge technologies, inclusion, outside-of-the-box thinking, teamwork, self-organization, and diversity


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • At least 4 years of experience in Software Engineering
  • At least 2 years of experience with Node.js and React
  • At least 1 year of experience with Relational and NoSQL databases


Preferred Qualifications:
  • 4+ years of experience developing web applications
  • 1+ years of experience with Cloud Native technologies (Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform)
  • Experience developing cloud native services
  • Experience using modern build and deployment tools such as Jenkins, Docker, etc.
