As an Engineering Lead, you will manage a team of engineers and own the technical direction of the product. You will partner with product owners, architects, and Arc clients to build a world-class, bleeding-edge set of services focusing on photo and video asset management. You will play a crucial role with opportunities to bring your unique ideas around development practices, testing, and deployment strategies to the table.

Responsibilities
  • Lead full stack teams of software engineers that design, implement, instrument, test, deploy and support their own code.
  • Build full stack web-based, distributed, multi-tenant, and multi-tier applications using java and javascript.
  • Provide expertise to guide the technical implementation of projects with up to 50% of time spent directly working on development and architecture.
  • Plan and then execute successful complex technical projects in an Agile process.
  • Coach team members on a daily basis, establishing goals and conducting performance reviews.
  • Own the full lifecycle of your team's QA and Operations.
  • Develop a deep understanding of how our products and client solutions are built and sometimes contribute technically to client solutions.
  • Understand and interpret client needs and design solutions for how to achieve them.
  • Ensure adequate workload balance to ensure maximum team performance.
  • Partner with Product Owners to maintain a roadmap and project plan that meets the demands of our clients.
  • Assist the manager in turning roadmaps into staffing needs and a hiring strategy.
  • Implement technical strategies that ensure future success of your products and teams.
  • Contribute to design and architecture of systems that span multiple teams and/or products.


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
  • BA/BS in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years experience building highly scalable customer facing applications.
  • Experience managing engineers
  • Experience architecting and implementing scalable SaaS or Cloud based applications.
  • Experience leading the implementation of technical products and mentoring junior and senior developers.
  • 5+ years of experience with Java, Spring, REST, Service Oriented Architecture, Docker and container services. Knowledge of Kafka, Jenkins is a plus.
  • 2+ years of experience in SQL and relational database modeling
  • 2+ years of experience working with ReactJS or other modern front-end technologies
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills


Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience managing engineers.
  • Experience building web applications on AWS.
  • Experience with end-to-end testing frameworks.
  • Experience with devops teams that own the full engineering lifecycle.
  • Experience analyzing application and cloud environment performance.
