Sr. Director, Product Management - Card Marketing Platforms

THE POSITION

Capital One is looking for an experienced Platform leader who is passionate about customers, data and governance. As Senior Director of Product Management for Card Marketing Platforms, you will be instrumental in defining the vision and strategy for a suite of platforms and capabilities that enable us to create exceptional experiences for our customers and prospects across all our card products and services and contribute directly to the growth of the Card business. The scope of role will include: Leading a dedicated Card marketing product and engineering team, as well as partnering with enterprise and segment organizations to define, develop, and run target-state platform capabilities in testing, dynamic content creation, and integrated, omni-channel experiences. Ultimately, your efforts will support thousands of engineers building on and contributing to our platforms in support of our 65M end customers.

KEY JOB FUNCTIONS

Product Development : Lead a team to manage the entire digital Product Lifecycle from concept through launch. Develop product vision, strategic priorities, and business cases to gain support from business leaders. Develop new platforms and process enhancements. Produce documents (business case, business requirements, functional requirements, etc.). Develop project plans and handle projects with aggressive time frames and assure that goals, budgets and deadlines are met. Drive the customer-centric research and testing process for defining the product feature set and user experience. Use your strong understanding of technology to collaborate with tech partners to build scalable, extensible solutions that deliver on the product requirements.

Strategic & Integrative Thinking : Develop plans to meet existing and evolving business and product goals. Evangelize the digital products and secure business-wide consensus on the strategy. Translate business goals into functional digital product strategies and tactical digital product ideas. Consider the Enterprise Customer in assessing the impact of new projects. Work closely with various business leaders to advise them on how to develop and sustain advantage in their space via the digital channels. Ensure that our products meet and exceed the goals.

Leadership/ Accountability : Possess strong leadership skills and serve as the primary contact for assigned initiatives. Work to influence and conduct cross-functional projects, some with remote resources. Develop close working relationships with other departments in the company as well as external contacts including vendors and industry groups.

Research & Decision Making : Monitor competitors and industry trends, work with in-house analysts to develop metrics, interpret data, devise corresponding market strategies, and present recommendations to business leaders. Develop, support and prove/disprove hypotheses using quantitative and qualitative techniques. Clearly presenting research results and recommendations using various software applications.

  • Experience managing the definition and execution of projects (conceptualization, requirements, design, development, testing, and implementation)

  • A proven track record in delivering products that deliver substantial value


Basic Qualifications:

- Bachelor's Degree or military experience

- At least 8 years of experience in digital product management

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Engineering

- MBA or Master's degree

- 5-8 years of experience translating business strategy and analysis into consumer facing digital products

- 5-8 years of experience in Agile product management
