Summary

This position is located in the Bureau of Fiscal Service (FS) Facilities Management and Operations Division, Metro Program Services Branch (MPSB). MPSB is responsible for project management, coordination and implementation of FS facilities management programs and policies relating the operation and maintenance of facilities.

Responsibilities

As a Support Services Specialist, you will:

-Coordinate physical moves and space reconfiguration projects with contractors and affected employees to ensure all aspects of the project are implemented properly.
-Develop new or modified work methods, organizational structures, records and files, management processes, staffing patterns, procedures for administering program services, and/or automate work processes for improvement in the conduct of support services functions.
-Apply and adapt analytical techniques and evaluation criteria to develop cost estimates and secure funding for the implementation of various facilities and space management projects.
-Work with contractors on work schedules for projects, and ensure all deliverables are accomplished in a timely manner.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

Specialized experience: For the GS-11, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is planning and coordinating a variety of support services for a facility or program, and interpreting and providing guidance on related policies and procedures.
Examples of such experience could include:
-Experience that included responsibility for directing a variety of support functions such as procurement, property management, facilities, etc. OR
-Administrative work that included maintaining online records or websites; or other work that demonstrated knowledge of records management; OR
-Conducting inspections of facilities to report findings; OR
-Coordinating space reconfiguration projects or physical moves; OR
-Serving as a Contracting Officer Representative (COR) for a variety of programs.

OR a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree that demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to do the work. Graduate work must be in one of the following major fields of study: public administration, business administration, industrial engineering, industrial management, or other administrative or management fields related to the position to be filled.
OR a combination of the education and experience listed above in which the percentage of specialized experience and education totals to 100%. (For example: the completion of 50% requirements for Ph.D. and 6 months of specialized experience.)

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- A one year probationary period may be required.
- Public Trust - Background Investigation will be required.
- Must successfully complete a background investigation. Periodic reinvestigation is required no later than five years after selection and at least every succeeding five years.
