Summary

This position is located with the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Division of Property in Reston, Virginia.

Serves as Supply System Analyst for the management and support of the BIA Central Office property management program. Provides advices and guidance to BIA staff on all matters concerning property accountability automated systems management, acquisition and disposal; fleet management inventory, internal controls and other issues with BIA owned assets.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts studies and analyze of functions, methods, procedures, and practices pertaining to new and/or improved property management automated systems business processes within the BIA community.
  • Identifies and initiates research of identified property accountability automated system problem areas. Discuss findings with associates within the various business areas of specialization.
  • Ensures that current inventory of real and personal property are correct, accurate and up-to-date for all BIA assets within Central Office to ensure that all property is accounted for and properly managed.
  • Identifies lost property, reconcile differences in property inventory and identifies solutions and takes appropriate action for missing property. Assists in the auditing of the Fleet Management Purchase Card Program.
  • Analyzes and evaluates field reviews to confirm that real and personal assets are properly accounted for in Bureau?s financial automated systems and vehicle usage is appropriate monitored.
  • Performs a variety of administrative and property management technical support duties and other duties as assigned and keeps supervisor informed of projects assigned, timelines and due dates.

Qualifications

To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job.

For the GS-12 level if you meet one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service which includes: management and support of the property management program; providing guidance on all matters concerning property accountability automated systems management, acquisition and disposal, fleet management inventory, internal controls and other issues with government owned assets.

For the GS-13 level if you meet one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service which includes: providing assistance to management by developing national policy and procedures for all Bureau real/personal property and vehicle management; analyzing a variety of multi-faceted problems, questions and conditions primarily associated with the various property and fleet management requirements; developing/interpreting property management policies and regulations.
