This position is located in the Office of Administration, Program Management, Announcements, and Editing (PMAE), Directives, Announcements, and Editing Team (DAET). The supervisor of this position is June Cai. This is a non-bargaining unit position. Expenses associated with relocation will not be paid. The selectee will serve as the Team Leader will be responsible for supervising and performing the activities of the DAET which include but are not limited to the following:

Leading and providing oversight and guidance for the following programs: (1) technical editing, including quick turnaround editing (QTE) and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission issuances (NRCIs); (2) announcements; (3) the agency's public comment docket and official agency records; and (4) Management Directives (MDs), which are the internal agency guidance documents that set out NRC policies and procedures for administrative and program operations.

Leading various publishing project managers and authors from the Agency's various divisions to formulate the production schedule; making the initial decision on such editorial matters as level of edit, form of communication, coordination necessary, reproduction methods, etc. ensuring that all publications meet the NRC editorial standards; executing the successive steps of the publishing project and independently solve technical problems that arise in the course of using common materials, methods, or techniques. You will coordinate with the visual information specialist, publications technician, printing specialist and computer services specialist to ensure that files are suitable for printing, Internet publishing, and other methods of dissemination.

You must meet the qualifications for this position by no later than 30 calendar days after the closing date of this announcement and before placement in the position. Internal employees of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission on a permanent or competitive Term appointment are eligible to apply.


To qualify, candidates must have at least one year of specialized experience at the next lower grade (GG-13) level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience includes: developing and managing agency policies and procedures including writing, editing, reviewing, and coordinating high-profile documents and document systems, such as NUREGs (e.g., NRCIs), MDs, comments, and Yellow Announcements, for the public and staff (internal use) in accordance with security handling requirement.
