Summary

The Senior Systems Database Engineer applies laws, policies, directives, and guidance to acquisitions throughout the total life cycle. The Senior Systems Database Engineer will provide systems engineering (SE) support to assess and oversee the technical requirements, design, development and implementation for those systems under the purview of the US Air Force.

Responsibilities
  • Support contract procurement planning, solicitation, award, and monitoring activities.
  • Conduct requirements analysis, design, development, performance measurement, verification and validation, certification and accreditation, deployment, change management, and transition by applying a broad and deep set of engineering and database expertise.
  • Conduct analysis of various database structures and links and develop singular or multiple databases capable of populating data to meet the contractual needs of the US Air Force program.
  • Perform data migration from various client databases into a consolidated database.
  • Analyze functional business applications and design specifications for functional activities.
  • Employ knowledge of client server and internet systems architectures.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • DoD 8570 IAT II certification
  • 3+ years of experience with systems engineering support, including requirements definitions, architecture development, and other program support.
  • Background check required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • 3+ years of experience with database development preferred
  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
  • A broad and deep set of engineering skill
  • Knowledge and experience with database procedure languages: MySQL, T-SQL, Oracle, etc.
  • Knowledge of complex database concepts as well as the implications of different database designs
  • Experience with more than one relational database management system
  • Strong written and oral skills
  • Strong customer service and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to listen and understand what is being described by the end user as well as the ability to explain problem resolutions when necessary
  • Possess and maintain a valid state operator's license
  • Ability to work independently without direct supervision or guidance
  • Ability to occasionally work after hours and/or on-call support
  • Must be able to travel up to 10% of the time
