Description: The Configuration Manager/Quality Assurance position will be responsible for controlling and managing Product Engineering Design Data (system engineering design specifications, drawings and associated lists) top-down structure and type using MIL-STD-31000 (engineering product data definitions), and for the Quality Assurance review and comment of internal and/or received engineering design data from OEMs meeting DoD format requirements and content per Data Item Description DI-SESS-81000. Candidate should have: Have experience implementing MIL-STD-973 and/or MIL-HDBK-61A for military systems Thorough understanding of Change Control and variety of Configuration Management review boards Experience and understanding of differences between Class I and Class II Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) and Value Engineering Change Proposals (VECPs) Experience in defining Product Engineering Design Data for Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) components and assemblies Understanding of use and differences between Vendor Item Control Documents and Source Control Documents Have knowledge of or applied MIL-HDBK-780 for specifying requirements of microcircuits Knowledge and application of Title 10 definition(s) for COTS items Have a working understanding of the minimum Product Engineering Design Data content needs to enable competitive acquisition and/or manufacture and test, which include but not limited to: Details of unique processes, ie, not published or generally available to industry, when essential to design and manufacture. Performance ratings. Dimensional and tolerance data. Critical manufacturing processes and assembly sequences. Toleranced input and output characteristics. Diagrams. Mechanical and electrical connections. Physical characteristics, including form, finishes, and protective coatings. Details of material identification, including material condition, and mandatory treatments and coatings. Inspection, test and evaluation criteria. Equipment calibration requirements. Quality assurance requirements. Hardware marking requirements. Requirements for reliability, maintainability, environmental conditioning, shock and vibration testing and other operational or functional tests. Vendor substantiation data when required by the contract or purchase order. Requirements for programming software into devices or assemblies including a description of the input media and the procedures for validating that the software has been installed correctly. Special consideration items and processes. All necessary mechanical dimensions to fully define fabrication, acceptance, interface or installation of the item depicted. All necessary electrical parameters to fully define fabrication, acceptance, interface or installation of the item depicted. All other necessary physical parameters to fully define fabrication, acceptance, interface or installation of the item depicted, ie, weight, pressure, viscosity, etc. All necessary environmental conditions which units, assemblies, subassemblies, parts and materials must meet to perform effectively in the end item, such that the end item will meet its specification requirements. .
