Signal Processing Engineer - SAR Specialization United States citizenship is mandatory due to US Government-sponsored security clearance requirements. At Expedition Technology, we push the boundaries of what is possible every day. Our engineers work on the toughest problems in Computer Vision, Digital Signal Processing, Image Processing and more from a Machine Learning/Deep Learning perspective and collaborate to find the answers. We are a research-focused company whose mission it is to solve our customer s most pressing needs in a creative, cutting-edge manner. The solutions we develop enable autonomous operation, improve intelligence and simplify how things get done. We re doing this by building the most talented, multi-disciplinary research and engineering development team possible. Currently, we are seeking mid-level to senior-level RADAR engineers with demonstrated experience with Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) to contribute to a variety of machine learning R&D programs. Our successful candidate will join a team that is tasked with the following: * Developing signal and image processing algorithms for remote sensing data processing and exploitation * Integrating image and/or signal processing algorithms into processing & analysis applications * Analyze utility of and rapidly develop applications for EO/IR, multi-spectral, and/or radar sensor data * Applying rigorous statistical methods and analysis to data collected from a variety of sensors to ensure findings are complete and accurate * Developing enhance, test, and evaluate algorithms to detect, track, characterize, and exploit weak signals * Implementing algorithms in high-level scientific computing languages (Python strongly preferred) * Integrating SAR data exploitation techniques into machine learning applications * Supporting formal software transition processes, including system/subsystem/component-level design * Documenting research through technical reports, presentations, and papers * Applying and interpreting advanced engineering or scientific theories, concepts, and techniques * Developing or direct the development of solutions to complex technical problems where little or no precedent exists, and innovation is required Position Requirements Include * United States citizenship. All applicants must be US Citizens and be eligible to obtain and maintain a security clearance level of Top Secret (TS) with eventual elevation to TS/SCI w/CI polygraph * BS/MS/PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical field * Five (5) or more years relevant experience with the duties listed above * Strong science and mathematics foundation * Excellent problem-solving skills * Programming skills in a high-level scripting language such as MATLAB, Interactive Data Language (IDL), or Python * Object-oriented programming, C/C++, Java, JavaScript * Strong verbal and written communication skills * One or more of the following: * Strong algorithm development background, including signal modeling, and formulating and solving optimization problems to extract meaningful information from data * RADAR and/or signal and image processing, exploitation, and analysis experience * Pattern recognition, and performance characterization experience * Experience with analysis and exploitation of 3D point cloud data generated from Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR), SAR, and Structure from Motion (SfM) * Understanding and/or interest in understanding SAR image formation and SAR 3D reconstruction techniques such as SAR stereo and tomographic SAR * Ability to design and implement learning architectures and systems by combining standard Deep Learning (DL) processing components with modality-specific elements to produce novel solutions to hard problems * EO/IR or spectral exploitation, analysis, or processing experience EXP is an employee-owned defense and aerospace technology small business seeking scientists and engineers who want to make a difference. We offer self-directed, company-paid, comprehensive Medical, Dental and Vision benefits through Individual Benefit Accounts (IBA) which provide a generous allowance to allow you to select which benefits matter most.
