Sous Chef - Xiquet
Xiquet, a fine dining concept by international award winning chef Danny Lledo. We are now hiring an Sous Chef to join us as a key member of our culinary team. This person will work directly with the executive chef and owner assisting in developing menus, staffing, and running the day-to-day operations of the kitchen to provide an innovative and well-timed experience for our guests. Our ideal candidate is: * committed to excellence in every element of menu development and execution * experienced, with 3+ years in an innovative Sous (or above) position, and at least 5 years experience in the kitchen of fine dining restaurants * someone who thrives in a brigade style kitchen * able to build and help to lead a top tier team * a hard worker * even tempered * committed to the success of every single service and every member of the team * able to schedule and manage others * a critical thinker, creative problem solver, and initiative driven * familiar with all elements of costing, sourcing ingredients, and vendor relationships * must be detail oriented and meticulous regarding cleanliness and organization Detailed knowledge of fine American and European cuisine, especially French and Spanish is required. Knowledge of plating, food ordering, and costing is required for this position. We offer a competitive compensation package based on experience and talent. Must have current ServSafe Food Handlers/Manager certification and DC DOH certificate at the time of hire or be able to obtain one within 30 days of starting this position.
