Business Group Highlights Defense The Defense group supports the Department of Defense (DoD) mission to keep our homeland and its citizens safe. We provide solutions to improve the Nation's defense by providing software, systems engineering, IT, training and logistics and fleet management solutions. Responsibilities This position is for a large contract for the Army, providing leadership and support existing systems, processes, and policies as well as working to implement new technologies and processes in support of the client s mission to provide Intelligence training and technologies to military personnel. The Network Engineer designs and plans network communications systems. Provides specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture. Conducts cost/benefit analysis and provides specific detailed information for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements. Conducts testing of network design. Responsible for monitoring network hardware operations to ensure properly set configuration options. Plans implementation of enhancements and upgrades to the network. Advises network users of hardware requirements, configurations, and limitations. Maintains technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, multiplexers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc. Evaluates and reports on new communications technologies to enhance capabilities of the network. May be assigned responsibility for the management of the systems administration function, including associated staff. Qualifications 3 years experience and a BA/BS degree. Responsible for assisting more senior positions and/or performing functional duties under the oversight of more senior positions. Current TS/SCI clearance Degrees in the following subjects are preferred but relevant job experience can be a substitute for the following areas of study: Computer science Computer software/computer systems engineering Computer systems and networks Network security management Desired certifications:- Although certifications are not a job requirement, one or more of the following would be considered strengths: CompTIA Network+ Cisco CCNA and CCNP. Cisco CCIE Enterprise Infrastructure and CCIE Enterprise Wireless SolarWinds Certified Professional Wireshark WCNA.
