We have a compelling opportunity for a software engineer to support our unique customer in the Washington, DC Metro Area. This position requires an active FSP security clearance. Analyzes user interfaces, maintain hardware and software performance tuning, analyze workload and computer usage, maintain interfaces with outside systems, analyze downtimes, analyze proposed system modifications, upgrades and new COTS. Defines the problem, and develops system requirements and program specifications, from which programmers prepare detailed flow charts, programs, and tests. Coordinates closely with programmers to ensure proper implementation of program and system specifications. Develops, in conjunction with functional users, system alternative solutions. Required Qualifications * Proficient in an object oriented program language (Java, C#, C++, etc) * Knowledge and experience with Software design principals to include modern interface standards (API, web services, etc.) * Proficient in Windows Batch & PowerShell scripting to create automated processes. * Experience working in a DevOps environment. * Expert in Windows Operating Systems. * Experience deploying/troubleshooting Windows based systems. * Knowledge and experience with configuration management. * Assist in testing, applying and maintaining server configurations and related security patches. * Experience imaging and configuring hardware * Experience evaluating system performance results and recommending improvements or optimizations. * Able to review and perform advanced analysis of system logs * Experience in an Agile software development environment * Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or similar technical degree. (Do not know if years in lieu of experience will count) * Requires current TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance * SCI used in the last 2 years * polygraph within the last 5 years Peraton drives missions of consequence spanning the globe and extending to the farthest reaches of the galaxy.
