Reports suspicious / unsafe activities or conditions to Security management to obtain direction and assistance.Job SpecificPerforms Security Office, Employee Entrance and Patrol operations as outlined in the Standards of Performance Manual for Security OfficersThoroughly understands all Hotel Emergency Response Procedures and is able to respond appropriately to all situationsMonitors/controls access to all facility employee entrances, ensures that only authorized individuals enterMaintains a visitor sign-in/out log and issues temporary passes to visitors/vendorsInspects all packages entering and exiting through facility employee entrances, denies access to or removal of unauthorized materialsVerifies that all materials leaving facility are accompanies by a completed, signed package removal pass, confiscates and turns over to management, all materials not properly authorizedMaintains signature lists of Management personnel authorized to sign package removal passesPatrols front of house, back of house and exterior hotel areas, reporting any safety or security hazards, unacceptable behavior, or suspicious persons to Security Supervisor for direction and resolutionPrepares necessary maintenance requests for safety related maintenance requirements identifiedMonitors CCTV cameras, radio communications, and Fire Control ComputersDocuments all security related issues and assistance provided in appropriate Security reportsLogs, stores, and returns lost and found items in accordance with hotel policiesEnforces hotel rules/regulations in accordance with Employee Manual and hotel policyMonitors and ensures compliance to hotel key control policies by all employeesInteracts with guests in a courteous and professional mannerResponds to all guest and employee incidents, gathers information, secures area if necessary to preserve evidenceCompletes all daily reports in accordance with the Safety Security ManualMay operate departmental vehicles to include electric personnel transport vehicles, pick up trucks, bicyclesMay assist in the collection/distribution of employee uniformsMay assist in the distribution of employee paychecksMay assist in obtaining materials from Storeroom areas during non-operating hours.Documents all after hour storeroom entries, reason for entry, ensures proper requisition obtained for all items removedAssists other hotel employees in applying Bloodborne Pathogen Exposure Control policiesAnswers department phone lines in prompt and courteous manner in accordance with all Loews hotels standardsOther duties as assignedGeneralPromotes and applies teamwork skills at all timesNotifies appropriate individual promptly and fully of problems and/or unusual matters of significanceIs polite, friendly, and helpful to guests, management and fellow employeesExecutes emergency procedures in accordance with hotel standardsComplies with required safety regulations and proceduresAttends appropriate hotel meetings and training sessionsMaintains cleanliness and excellent condition of equipment and work areaQualificationsExcellent communication and guest service skillsMinimum two years previous Security department experience preferred at a similar quality propertyCPR certifiedKnowledge of hotel operationsAble to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
