The Staff Technical Analyst is key in understanding network intrusion sets, both from an offensive and defensive perspective. The analyst will need to work within a team setting, but also as an individual, to make operational recommendations. The analyst will need a thorough understanding of both Linux and Window-based systems and internet protocols. The analyst will have to understand and identify vulnerabilities within the system/network and to work toward mitigating them. Understanding what malicious activity looks like would be very valuable. The Staff Technical Analyst will have to communicate complex technical topics to a non-technical or less technical audience, to include officers at all levels of seniority across both the IC customer and community partners. Brief complex and/or sensitive topics to a wide range of audiences. Qualifications: Basic Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in a relevant field to the position (computer science, STEM, engineering etc.) and fourteen (14) years of professional experience or a high school diploma and 18 years of professional experience * Demonstrated ability to integrate into a multi-discipline team and take a team based approach to solving complex problems * Technical expertise in computer and network operating systems (Windows, Linux, Cisco), hardware/network management tools and protocols * Basic working knowledge of wireless communications technology to include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, RF * Basic working knowledge of network security concepts and the application of those concepts in enterprise networks * Active TS/SCI with poly clearance Preferred Qualifications: * Minimum four (4) years of written and oral communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate complex ideas to audiences with varied technical and operational backgrounds * Knowledge in the creation and application of IP-based virtual private networks * Basic understanding of customer culture, practices and processes. This includes the relationship between offices and groups, CONUS and OCONUS, and particularly how technical in general and cyber specifically, fit into the model of FI. * Technical Certifications (CISSP, Network+.
