Job Summary The Bureau of Diplomatic Security (DS) is the security and law enforcement arm of the US Department of State (the Department). DS is a world leader in international investigations, threat analysis, cyber security, counterterrorism, security technology, and protection of people, property, and information. Its primary mission is to provide a safe and secure environment for the conduct of US foreign policy. The Office of Security Technology (ST) supports the DS mission through the application and use of appropriate technical security countermeasures. Specific Responsibilities * Member of team developing 3D visualization of security data associated with Department facilities. * Collaborates with field users from design through implementation of in-house developed software. * Works closely with technicians and hardware engineers to develop innovative software solutions. * Works with other Department organizations to determine requirements and solutions for 3D visualization. * Be able to assess current State Department and Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) tools and data holdings to develop solutions. * Identify areas to inject cutting edge technology, such as Artificial Intelligence or Machine Learning to drive efficiencies. * Interpret requirements from several end-client sources, going back to the client and refining when necessary. * Turn requirements into User Stories, and then turn these User Stories into actionable items. * Develop software in an agile environment. * Develop in web front-end technologies like Vue.js, Angular, or React, or other front-end technologies commonly used to create user interfaces on the web. Experience and Education * 5+ years of experience as a Full Stack Developer within a DoD/DOS Environment * Knowledge of ingestion phase works and leveraging existing systems * Experience building an entirely new big data architecture (not relying on the legacy options) * Experience determining the requirements and solutions for 3D visualization in an agile environment * Experience with design work (3D Vista or GUI) * Active or Interim TS DoD clearance required * Experience coding Unity (Unity Programming or C#) Object-Oriented Scripting is strongly desired * Experience in producing frontends with 3D visualization is preferred * Knowledge of developing for both Linux and Windows * Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a similar field is preferred * CompTIA Security+ CE Certification is preferred Physical Requirements and Work Environment * CONUS: normal office environment. * OCONUS: travel may include critical threat locations around the world with austere living conditions. Travel * May be required to travel up to 10% of the time. * May be required to travel OCONUS to conduct installation, training, or maintenance at diplomatic facilities. Accordingly, a valid passport is required. * Domestic travel may be required for training and program coordination.
