Dynalectric Washington DC is looking for a Fire Life Safety Coordinator to Support the Construction and Estimating Departments.Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Support the Construction estimating department with complete system review to include but not be limited to (Specification Review, Means and Methods, Layout, Trade Coordination, Vendor Quote Request, Vendor Quote Review)Review fire alarm estimates for put fire alarm estimates into Accubid.Review vendor quotes, recommend vendor and purchase system.Review conduitcable layout and wiring schemes designed by vendors to insure efficient installations.Review vendor submittals and shop drawings prior to submission to engineerarchitect and the fire marshal.Work with project managers, fire alarm technicians, general contractors, vendors and fire marshals during the engineering, permitting and installation process for fire alarm systems.Engineer and design fire alarm systems to include device layout, conduit and cable routing, voltage drop calculations and battery calculations.Pull permits for the work to include building permit, electrical and fire alarm permits when required.Submit vendor shop drawings and submittal booklets to the engineerarchitect and fire marshal for permit review.Work with fire marshal, vendors, general contractor, and project managers to answer any job-specific questions during the approval process.Set up fire alarm job book to include job specifications, vendor submittals, purchase orders and all pertinent job information.After fire marshal approval and permits are secured, meet with the fire alarm technician to review the job layout and installation requirements.Meet with job superintendent to arrange for manpower to meet job schedules and deadlines.Work with vendors to schedule equipment shipping dates and deliveries.Work with fire alarm technicians to ensure that all company quality control documents are followed and filled out properly.Schedule all fire alarm inspections with the fire marshal, participate insupervise acceptance test.At the completion of each project, ensure that a copy of all quality control documents, permits, approved drawings and any pertinent job information is given to the building owner and that a copy is also stored at Excel Archives with company records.Work EnvironmentWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. This position is performed inside and outside which may include adverse weather conditionsPhysical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift andor move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift andor move up to 50 pounds.
